Jenna Hua is a Learning Innovation & Engagement Specialist at Friends of the National Asian Pacific American Museum. She brings a multifaceted background as an out-of-school time educator, researcher, and nonprofit capacity-builder to designing learning experiences that foster connection and inspire change. At FRIENDS, Jenna contributes to research, learning design and curation, museum technology prototyping, and community engagement initiatives.

Previously, Jenna was a post-baccalaureate fellow at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, where she supported research, policy, and engagement efforts to advance a national R&D movement for high schools that value learning everywhere, not just within classrooms. She also served as a grant writer at the Coalition for Asian American Children and Families, securing key funding to expand the organization’s advocacy across New York State.

Jenna discovered her love for teaching in informal learning spaces. She served as a Program Director at Chinatown Youth Initiatives’ Summer Leadership Institute in 2020 and co-founded the AAPI First Year Fellowship at Wellesley College, a semester-long program to support first-year students’ transitions to college. Her evaluation of the program’s impact earned recognition from the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society for research excellence.

She holds a B.A. in Education Studies and Psychology from Wellesley College and completed UC Berkeley Extension’s Professional Program in Project Management. In her free time, she is an avid solo traveler and museum-goer who has explored more than 90 museums around the world.
